Hello Gretchen,
I hope your surgery went well and I'm glad the fibroids are gone. Make sure you eat well - stop with dairy and - meat - it will help you. I plan to come see you in Oct with Esperanza at the U of MD. Be well. Continue to make good music.

Recently June 08 i passing the Cacacas jazz club one night on W.8th St. in the Village when my friend and neighbor Titus Rebas, bass player/ musical director there grabbed me saying come in and hear Gretchen and it's being filmed by Japanese TV, He looked me over removing a white plastic yogurt spoon from my shirt pocket and felt I was presentable for the camera leaving in the pocket the memo book and 2 pens. I was really impressed with the range, subtlety and depth. Spring Is Here was quite nice. Your singing is unaffected and you're nice to acknowledge your mom as web designer. I discovered a star. Good luck with fibroid tumor operation. An ex girlfriend had one removed the size of a grapefruit.

Thank you for the wonderful evening at Alverno. I will recommend you for the Woodstock Opera House in Woodstock, Illinois - it would make for a great venue for you. I so wanted to hear Skylark - but maybe next time. It was enchanting. My best to you. Jerome

I am an American correspondent for "Bing Magazine," which is published by The International Club Crosby. I have written an article for the magazine profiling Jud Conlon's Rhythmaiares, of which your grandfather, Charlie Parlato was a member. The Rhythmaires provided background vocals for numerous Crosby performances on records, radio, and film. The article, which appears in the current winter issue, spotlights Mr. Parlato's magnificent contributions to the group and his career beyond. Vocal Arranger Jimmy Bryant and composer Hugh Martin offered considerable assistance to me during my research for the article. Please let me know if you would like a copy of the article. I would be happy to e-mail it to you.

Thanks for being so gracious with my daughter when she was signing her butterfly picture against your knee -- I hope she didn´t press too hard. We both enjoyed your duets with RG tremendously (College Park, Nov. 7), and when I played Don Braden´s version of "Butterfly" the next evening Tamara´s face lit up in happy recognition. Please do record the tune for your next project!
I don´t see why it wouldn´t work unless the disc is a concept album like a Vaughn Monroe project or some such thing. (But you probably aren't into VM, are you?) And please keep coming to the DC area often!
